When only using a keyboard (as in the only USB device plugged into the server is a keyboard), I have no problems. However, as soon as I plug in a mouse USB device (I have tried two different mice), I get a trouble shooting code 234, as in 'possible USB failure'.
This problem occurred while trying to install a RAID card and two new HDDs. The RAID Card BIOS setup would freeze whenever the USB error occurred. This is probably due to my keyboard and mouse failing (due to the error) than to the RAID card BIOS. I got around this by figuring out that the mouse was my problem and just 'tabbed' my way through setup.
Once I began installing Windows, I tried the mouse again. The same troubleshooting code returned, but I was able to use both my keyboard and mouse.
Does the problem come from the fact that I wasn't using Dell Keyboard/Mouse? Does it have something to do with that fact that I hadn't gotten an OS on the server yet? I'm simply looking to understand the problem.
Thanks
