Hello everyone,

I recently bought a PowerEdge R230 and have installed Server 2016 Standard on it. Drivers are all up to date, latest updates installed etc. With both NIC1 and NIC2, static IPs on the network are configured and verified working on their own, both alongside each other and in isolation. On the C6100 node I have, I've configured NIC Teaming and would like to do so on this machine too. However, when attempting to do so, NIC1 doesn't show up in the list of available adapters, instead showing the NDIS device:

I've rebooted the machine to disable iDRAC from using the network (I have no use for it, having permanent physical access to the machine) and the router shows the IP for iDRAC intermittently. As iDRAC is disabled, I'm not sure what's going on - a flick through the user's manual provides no hints. My assumption is that iDRAC or something else is still sharing NIC1's port and overriding it somehow, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm looking to place qty 2 (two)  M.2 PCIE SSDs into an R820 .

Do the R820s have M2 slots ?

I made several calls to Dell sales and got no where.

Can the Samsung 960 PRO 512G, which has an M2 interface, plug into the dell R820 ?

Does anyone know if there will be a fix for using smart cards with the virtual console in iDRAC7?  When I initially started using the iDRAC7  web interface I was able to use my smart card to log on the virtual console.  Maybe my memory is failing and it never did work.

We recently received 4 R930's and when I try to add the SFP's to the 10g Network card it is such a tight squeeze because of the design of the server. I think I need to move the network cards in all 4 servers. I've never seen anything like this.

We are installing the H330 Mini on the R740XL PowerEdge Server. What SAS Cable is required? Can the same SAS cable from the R730XL be used? I have part# 0F037K, but if the R740XL now have a different SAS Cable please advise.

Hello,

I am trying to configure SSL for iDRAC6 and the command to upload the SSL key to the DRAC is not available.  I have updated the firmware walking it all the way from 3.33 to 3.85 for the iDRAC.  I am a configured admin, I am using a remote RACADM console, and I have reset the RAC numerous times.  I have tried it remotely, and locally but the command is not available.  Lastly, I configured the SSL key upload for all of my other servers using iDRAC 7 and 8 without an issue.  Please help.

I have a iDRAC6 with version 1.2 which has iDRAC Lan option as off, this version of IDRAC firmware has a bug which causes a communication error with IDRAC during POST when iDRAC Lan is off.

I am capable of accessing iDRAC during boot via ctrl+e ONCE each time I unplug the server and drain any remaining power by holding the power button for 30 seconds. After the first access via ctrl+e I will receive a iDRAC communications error again.

When I do gain access to the iDRAC non of my option changes take effect. If I try to do a factory reset for the iDRAC settings I see a an error that keeps says please try again later. If I try to change the bugged option iDRAC Lan to on, it simply does not take effect. 

What I would like to do at this time is somehow get iDRAC functional enough so that I can turn it on over LAN, set static IP and update the iDRAC firmware over its web interface.

OS: No OS installed at this time, I have access to various linux livecd's

Howdy,

The i350 NICs in my R620 server won't apply their update.  It currently shows as version 0.0.0 and I'm trying to install 17.5.10.

I tried to install from an SUU package first and that failed.  I then downloaded the EXE file and that won't install either.

Any way I can figure out what the problem is?  I'm having this error on two different R620 servers.

I have a T110

and was working fine . 

i put in new memory and booted it up pressed F1 it seen new memory and booted into windows ok 

as this server is for an up and coming project i left it to one side for about a month.

3 days ago i plugged it in to start to configure it BUT

i get no video

on front panel i have amber flashing light and number 1 in green  

on checking net it says its a power supply issue, or may be a motherboard  i get new power supply still same issue.

i then get new motherboard now i have blue solid light and number 1 in green but still no video

i tried plugging in each memory module in number 1 slot at a time , i have reset the bios 

am i missing something.

Hello experts?

I have Dell Power Edge R520 server with one 8GB RAM. Ram type is 8GB 2Rx8 12800R. I need upgrade RAM capacity. I have planning buy new lot of rams. I found the 8GB 2Rx4 12800R rams on local dealership company. 

My question is 8GB 2Rx8 12800R compatible with 8GB 2Rx4 12800R ram? My server hardware assign with this ram?

T110 fans turns on as soon as power is connected.
there is no video no response.

light indicator is a follows:
1) 1, 3, 4 

after 10 seconds
2) 1 remains on

Ram is working fine ( i tested it on another machine)

Blue health indicator remains on.

Please help, Its urgent

Hello, 

I am changing the hard disk of the server blade M620, the disk use a RAID 1.

OpenManage of Dell shows me the that the disk is "Non certified" when I insert the disk, and the iDRAC doesn't detect the disk.

The current disk of the server is 

And the new disk is

I don't understand what is the problem, Why the new disk was certified for Dell.

We have a PowerEdge with a PERC H200 and 2x 500gb drives mirrored.

I want to simply add a 4TB drive not in a RAID - just a spare drive for data.  Can I simply plug it into the next open drive cable connected to the H200 without effecting the existing drives, or do I need to purchase 2 4TB SATA drives and mirror them? 

If I can't plug it into the H200 can I use the onboard SATA controller (if any)?

hi all!

I have a DELL POWEREDGE R720. I recently change the motherboard due to an IDRAC Issue. The question is, after the change, i need to change the service tag to the original? How can i do? Furthermore, I can´t  apply the IDRAC License, because the service tag is not the same that the original...

I replaced the entire fleet of 2gb memory sticks in a Dell Poweredge R715 with: Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 ECC RDIMM (Part#CT5321400).

I have two processors, so following the manual, I believed the correct slots for the two sticks to be A1 and B1. 

When starting/rebooting the server I am prompted with the listed memory config. not optimal message. When I look at the hardware configuration it is show the ram as being 1333.

What're the next steps in resolving this message and creating an optimal config?

need help

im trying to update firmware on my machine R710

i press F10 to go into Lifecycler controller UEFI v2.1 (bios version 2.1.9 USC version 1.3.0.16)

when it gets into the USC it dose not give me an option to update at all (no option to update)

these are my options

home/HW config/ OS deployment/ Hardware diagnostics/ USC settings and About

i did some research it says i can download an update to LCC via USB(dell.app.box.com/.../BootableR710)

but when i boot into the usb with above download it says (no applicable update to your configuration)

can anyone give me a step by step process on how to  update from my version to a USABLE version that can update it self from dell.ftp(example 3.0 or 4.0 update that can jump to latest update)?

going from version 1.3.2 to 2.0.8

• I have tried upgrading directly from Dell OME
• I have tried using 32 bit and 64 bit installers manually on the server logged in as administrator and running the binaries as administrator
• I have tried upgrading first to 1.4.5 and it won't upgrade to that version either.

This server is part of a pair of Hyper-V hosts and the other server upgraded just fine from the OME. Please help. Thanks in advance

Hi,

What is the DP/N of the currently shipping fan module for the Dell M1000e? Can anyone tell me the difference between DP/N: X46YM and XR458?

Both of these use Nidec dual fans and have the same MFG part number, but the amperage is different.

XR458: MFG# 72160, R80J12BS1MC-07A02, 5.6 Amp

X46YM: MFG# 72160, R80J12BS1NC-07A02, 5.0 Amp

Hi,

My M1000e chassis has a label with a service tag, but within the CMC it has no service tag. How do I set the service tag in the CMC?
