VLT0304 cpu2 vcore pg voltage is outside of range. Please resat the CPU2

Hello Experts,

I have Dell PowerEdge R720:

Intel Xeon E5 2620 2.0 gig dual CPU (6 core each), 32 GB of Ram, dual 750W supply.

I am facing this issue from 5 days ago. Unable to run the Server but tried to pull out the CPU2 and then server goes on and working on single cpu. i also tried to put that CPU2 again after cleaning it. NO HOPE.

The error is VLT0304 cpu2 vcore pg voltage is outside of range. Please resat the CPU2

there is additionally one more error on display:

VLT0204 system board fail-safe voltage is outside of range 

can you guys please let me know that the CPU2 is dead or gone or there is any other way to resolve the issue.

MEMBIST failure

I replaced my damage server board wit  a new motherboard for my Server Dell Power Edge T610 and after transfering my memory sick on the old server to the new mother board on the server I got this error message during system boot "MEMBIST failure - The following DIMM A1 has been disabled by BIOS ". DIMMS A1 memory slot is claim to be disable from the bios. please how do i resolve this?

2950 Gen III + H200 to a MD1000 = Fail??

I'm in the process of finishing-off my home networking lab / data center build-out, and I've got a few pieces of Dell gear that I'm completing the installation of. I have a Gen 3 2950 with an existing Perc 6i RAID card for a full compliment of 8 x 146GB SAS drives, and all is functioning fine.

I also have a MD1000 fittied-out with 13 x 1TB SAS Drives and a H200 that I just purchased. The H200 is installed in the bottom of the two black PCIe slots on the mid-riser card. The card is recognized at boot, and I can access the card at BIOS init. When displaying info that the HBA shows, all that I see is that the HBA itself is disabled, with no apparent way of changing this. I have tried both connectors on the backplate of the HBA to the first SAS connector on the MD1000, with no joy. I have ensured that the SAS connectors on both ends are seated correctly. All drives on the MD1000 spin-up properly.

The Firmware is 07.15.08.00-IT.

Any ideas?

OID for R410's power supplies' status

I am trying to get an SNMP OID for monitoring the status of the R410's power supplies, same as for other Dell systems, such as R420, M420, R720. In those cases I used: powerUsageStatus 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.600.60.1.5.1.1. So we'd like something similar, an overall power supply status, not necessarily if possible on an individual power supply basis. I was just unable to find one for the R410 servers yet, and we still have quite a few of them.

RAID Controller Failure

I have defected Raid controllers (TY8F9 and 5CT6D) when try to boot up the PowerEdge it shows different message for each one of them,

1- multi bit ECC Error

2- System Halted

3- FW is fault state

4- Adapter and Base port not responding

Is there any method to communicate with the RAID controller and check the defected parts based on the previous issues?

Windows 7 Deployment on Poweredge R730xd

I have been fighting for days now trying to deploy Windows 7 64 bit OS on my server. I can't see the drive during installation, and I can't guess which drivers for PERC H730 Mini to put on my installation USB stick to see the drive.

Please note I can't use lifecycle because I have no licence for virtual media or idrac. Please help to find the correct

Hi, my name is Santiago im new in this group, i wanna know How to Replace Hard Disk on Power Edge R310 with RAID 5 array, my server have 4 HDD numbered 0, 1, 2 and 3 the problem is the Disk 2 is not working.

After this I want to know two things.

1. The complete procedure of how to replace the disc as I told you at the beginning;
2. If this RAID5 type array is not lost the information.

PE2900 PERC 5/i RAID-1 Drive Replacement

I have a PE2900 with a PERC 5/i controller.  On the controller are 6x disks, configured as 3x RAID-1 arrays.

One of the drives is showing a predicted fail.  (Flashing green/amber).

I'm 99.9% sure that the controller supports hot-swapping the drives, so is the job of fixing this as simple as pulling out the dodgy drive, unbolting it from the caddy, bolting on a new one, and inserting the new drive back into the chassis.

Will the PERC 5/i automatically rebuild the array as soon as it sees the new drive?  Or do I need to do anything?  (Consistency check the drive before pulling it?  Set the drive to Offline before I pull it?  Anything like that?)

Sorry for what must seem like a really basic question.  I just want to make sure that I don't do anything obviously wrong.  Thanks tons for any advice.

Dell Power Edge R720 Gets stuck on Configuring Memory

Hi Friends

One of our "Dell Power Edge R720 server  with single processor" is not working from Thursday. On the screen it shows “Configuring Memory” and in the server’s LED “System booting”. 

we tried everything changed RAM changed CPU changed RAM. but not working at all

is there any solution.

Is Dell PE-T30 compatible for ESXi 6.5 install

Hi There,

Please suggest if PE T30 with standard cofiguration can be used for esxi 6.5 (xeon E3-1225 v5/16 GB RAM/Chipset-Intel C236).

Also do I need customized installer or regular esxi 6.5 will work?

I need it for my lab for R&D

Dell R815 Not Recognizing Drives

Hi there,

We have a Dell R815 with 6, 4TB laptop drives installed and it is only recognizing 2 of them. We thought the RAID controller was the issue so we replaced that and it still only recognizes 2 drives. The 2 drives that are recognized are in slot 04 and 05. Swapping drives does not change the what slots are recognized. 

Any advice on how to fix this? What additional information do you need from me to troubleshoot accurately?

Best Processors for PE-R610 Gen1?

Sorry if it's around and I missed it but I have not been able to find a 100% definite answer to my question. 

I have a Revision 1 R610 with a single E5502. I want to jump it up as far as I can (within price reason...) I know the V1 mobo can't run any of the 130W Xeons, but I find conflicting documentation as to whether it can run 80/95W 6-core X56's. Can I use a couple of X5675's or X5670's? if not, what ARE the best processors I can jam into a V1 mobo? X5667's?

Enable Encryption on Samsung PM863a in M620 with H710 Mini PERC.

I've installed a pair of Samsung PM863a SSD's that have Hardware AES 256 encryption.  They are not recognized as being able to encrypt when configuring in the PERC.  Has anyone found a way to do so or am I stuck with software encryption.  Are there any recommended ~1TB SSD's that do support encryption?

Poweredge T310 Memory upgrade

I know this are an older unit but I have got my hands on a decommissioned one that I want to setup for personal use. I also can get some decommissioned HP server memory modules but wanted to check first that they are compatible. The memory is:

HP Part Number 500205-071U (not sure what the U stands for)

This memory I believe is DIMM,8GB PC3-10600R,512Mx4,RoHS Dual Rank

Intel HD Graphics P530 system memory usage in PowerEdge T30

How much system memory is used by the Intel HD Graphics P530 video card in my PowerEdge T30?  How can I change the amount?  Usually, this is done in the BIOS but there aren't any options for it.

Graphics cards on R210 (Nvidia GT 1030)

Hi,

Did someone test the new NVIDIA GT 1030 on a poweredge R210 / R210 ii (or other dell server with a small PSU : 250W) ?

Do you know if it has a chance to work ?

The CPU has a TDP of 80W and the GT 1030 has a TDP of 30W

The R210 ii manual says that the mother board limit the PCI slot to 25W but some test with an old graphic card (Radeon X600 RV380 with a TDP of 36W) shows that it works.

The card is a PCI Express 3.0 16x (available in low profile / 1 slot).

RNIC - RDMA for R910

Hi, need to check Nic for R910 servers with support to RDMA.

I check BCM5709C , but apparently requires a license.

R720XD has all the amber indactor lights on steady but server is working fine?!

The status indicator lights on our PowerEdge R720XD are on steady.   You can also see the primary status light has both the amber and blue LED's on... basically, ALL the LEDs are lit up.  

The server is working fine and boots without issue.   Should I be concerned or is this just an indicator panel issue?
